Internships: support the work and mission of Family Resources in the community as well as provide the opportunity for professional development in any of our programs:

We are currently at capacity for Master level internships.

Bachelor level internship placements in Survivor Services are available.

Internships take place during regular agency office hours and a flexible schedule is recommended in order to serve clients when they are available. Human Service/Social Work internships are expected to be served with the majority of the hours in direct service.

Internships applications should be submitted a semester ahead of the internship assignment in order to have time to meet Prerequisites: Application, background check clearances, finger print results and training as required.

Survivor Services internships requires 64 hours of Survivor Advocacy Training offered by the agency. Application, background checks and all prerequisites must be completed before entering training.  

All Internship Inquiries must include a cover letter with essential information for consideration:

Academic Program Undergraduate or Graduate level Family Resources Program of interest Number of hours needed Credentials required of Family Resources Internship Supervisor  Length of Internship Additional requirements or accommodations

The Process of Determination to expect:

Submit cover letter to the Intern CoordinatorThe Intern Coordinator will let you know if there is an available internship Intern application and background check forms must be completedAn interview will be scheduled with the program providing the internship if there is a possible matchAn internship may be offered contingent on background clearancesOrientation and training will be provided if applicable and per program requirements

Donation Center Clothing Closet

The Donation Center provides Family Resources Clients with clothing, personal care products and home goods during times of crisis and life transitions. Items are donated by the community and processed by volunteers. This is a high impact volunteer opportunity that directly benefits Family Resources clients.

Volunteer Service Description: An initial orientation is provided. Volunteers will sort and process donated clothing, self-care products and home goods. Donated items are sorted and processed and then organized and placed for clients to shop. Volunteers keep the store stocked, clean and presentable. The Volunteer Coordinator will assist you or your team during volunteer shifts. We are also looking for a Lead Volunteer Donation Center Specialist for the Donation Center to assit with managing the store on a weekly basis. 

Donation Center Volunteers are scheduled Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Location is at 1414 W. Lombard in Davenport.

 

This activity covers general agency events and assistance  as well as being a Volunteer Ambassador.  Volunteers will assist the Volunteer Program Coordinators with community outreach and volunteer recruitment.  This will include program presentations and testimony of the volunteer's own contribution of service in the community through the Family Resource Volunteer Program.  The Volunteer Ambassador will have a general knowledge of Family Resources' Programs and Volunteer System.

This Need Response is for agency service in general and volunteering to support all agency programs.  This includes administrative work, finance, data entry, resource development, organizing, quality, event planning, fund raising, agency board and committee service to Family Resources.

Volunteer Ambassadors assist and support the Volunteer Program and Volunteer Cooridnators: recruitment, training, service opportunities, community engagement, policy and advisory platforms.

Light landscape cleanup at the Family Resources Moline office. Some weeding and raking of previously landscaped areas as well as gutter cleanup on this one story office building.

Volunteers are needed for interior and exterior painting at Family Resources locations. Other building improvemetn projects may include laying carpet tiles and wall finishes.
